State Enterprise "Artyomsol" started the production of purified edible salt using Taiho color sorters
On January 18, 2018, the state-owned salt mining enterprise Artyomsol launched the production of purified edible salt. New products will go both for export and for the domestic market.
“Today we have started the production of premium salt in modern packaging while maintaining the traditional appearance of the pack. The implementation of this project will allow us to improve the quality of products, increase the presence of Artyomsol State Enterprise in export markets and create new jobs,” said Victoria Lutsenko, head of Artyomsol State Enterprise.
In order to obtain top-grade salt according to GOST 3583:2015, the photo-separation process was integrated into the existing technology, which made it possible to eliminate dark inclusions of natural origin (anhydrides) from rock salt. As a result, the salt acquired a more attractive appearance, and the NaCl content increased to 99%.
The production of purified edible salt was launched at two mines of the enterprise at the same time. At the site of the mine No. 1.3, new food products are packaged in a cardboard box and a plastic bag weighing 1 kilogram. At the site of mine No. 4, not only additional purification of salt takes place, but also its packaging in packs of a new sample weighing 0.5 and 1 kg. This package is more colorful, convenient to use, the products in it do not wake up and do not cake. Edible salt after additional cleaning and in high-quality packaging meets European quality standards.
It should be noted that the program for the reconstruction and modernization of all mines was launched at the enterprise in 2016. The main investments in the purchase of imported high-tech equipment amounted to UAH 23.5 million. Salt cleaning and packaging systems were purchased through the Prozorro electronic system, which made it possible to select the best equipment at an affordable price. According to preliminary calculations, the investment in this project will pay off in 1.5 years.
SE "Artyomsol" plans to continue the technical re-equipment of the mines and switch to the production of purified salt on all production lines.
